About the PDA

The UC San Diego Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is an official Academic Advisory Group to the University, composed of volunteer postdocs who are committed to enhancing the postdoctoral experience at UCSD.

In collaboration with the Office of Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar Affairs (OPVSA) and postdoc associations across the area, we organize professional development programs, social events and networking opportunities throughout the year.  We are a non-profit organization, free to join, and not affiliated with the Postdoc Union!

The purpose of the PDA

  • Foster communication between postdocs, administration and faculty
  • Provide a postdoctoral perspective to campus issues
  • Provide postdocs with a sense of community and identity
  • Facilitate training, professional development and networking opportunities for successful career transitions
